Day 4 is now coming to a close and this blog post will be short, as we are all exhausted today. Josie had an excellent day and had a bottle at 5 out of her 6 feedings so far. This was a huge achievement and the nurses were impressed with her rapid gains. She still likes to scare us periodically by forgetting to breath while she is eating, but she is starting to recover quicker and quicker from these episodes. They are no longer checking her blood sugars since they have balanced out so Josie doesn't have to have her heal pricked on regular basis anymore.
Chad and Josie spent a good hour at lunch by themselves and had a full bottle and lots of cuddle time. This is definitely a new way for Chad to spend his lunch breaks:) I checked out of the hospital this morning and while it was nice to get outside after being in for a full week, it was hard to leave without Josie. Luckily I was able to get back for the afternoon and evening feedings. Grandma Scott is still here and was a great help today as we got settled at the hotel.
More tomorrow...
