Day 4 of Josie's life has been an interesting one. Daddy had to go back to work today, which was difficult for him to leave his little girl for the first time. Josie and I spent a good part of the morning talking about daddy and how much we knew he was missing her. Also, Grandma Scott came to visit and LeeAnn Dickerson stopped by.
I was supposed to checkout of the hospital at noon, which we weren't looking forward to. About eleven, the nurse came in and said we will need you to leave as soon as the doctor stops by and releases you because we have too many patients and not enough rooms. So, I frantically called Chad at work and he rushed to the hospital and loaded up the car. Chad checked into the hotel and unpacked all of our stuff, while I waited to get discharged. Well, the doctor showed up and said my blood pressure was still too high and I had to stay another night. So there mom and I sat in an empty hospital room and Chad at the hotel waiting for us. Just when we thought we had a decent plan... Unforunately, my camera ended up packed and at the hotel, so we didn't get any new pictures today to add to the blog.
The good news is we get to stay with our little girl another night. We took another shot at bottle feeding this afternoon and Josie took two bottles in a row successfully. This was the first time she was able to do this, so it was a great step. Her jaundice level went up again this morning, so they have added another light to her room. It looks like a professional tanning salon in her room and we hope the new light helps her levels go down.
Well that's about it for another day in the life of Josie. Chad and I are headed to the next feeding and preparing for another good night of 3 hour sleeping periods:)
