Josie celebrated a week of life today! Overall, we had a good day and have come close to doubling the amount of milk we are drinking each feed. This should definitely help Josie put on more weight and she gained 47 grams over night. She is solely on bottles now and did great without her feeding tube. Her temperature dropped over night while in the crib, so she is back in a warmer for awhile longer (the good thing is we don't have to wear the diva sunglasses in the warmer:). Typically they put babies in isolettes before they transition to a crib, which allows them to slowly drop the temperature she is exposed to down to room temperature. All of those beds are full now, so we may have to wait to try to move out of the warmer.
During the night Josie also had her first spontaneous spell, which means her heart rate and respirations dropped and wouldn't come back up without her being stimulated. Anytime she does this she extends her stay in the NICU automatically by 5 days. This means they will keep Josie until at least next Wednesday. Hopefully that is the only spell we experience.
Well, that's about it for today. I'll make sure I get a few new photos for the album tomorrow.
