Hot, Hot, Hot

Once again I don't know where the time has gone since the last post. We have been avoiding the hot, hot weather (Today it is 100 in KC) by playing inside or swimming. Both kids are recovering from yuckycolds which turned into an ear infection for Josie that we can't seem to kick. I'll be glad when she gets a tube in that ear in August. Since the last post, we have celebrated Father's Day, Henry turned 10 months old, and Josie started to stand up from the middle of the floor! Chad had a good Father's Day and the first with Henry. We were scheduled to spend a few days at the lake in August to celebrate our 5th anniversary, but with Josie's surgery that has been canceled. So gramma and grampa Scott kept the kids over Father's Day weekend and Chad and I spent a night at the lake. It was the first time we had skied since last fall.

4th of July weekend was basically exhausting. Both kids
were fairly sick and Chad and I spent the weekend sleeping in recliners. We've gotten spoiled lately with both kids sleeping better, so when we run into these rough nights it seems harder. I guess it is easy to forget how to function with sleep deprivation:)

Henry is really becoming something of a flirt lately. He plays this game where he lays his head down on the table or arm of a chair and smiles up at you. He wants you to do it too. It is pretty cute.
He is also full of kisses. Gramma Scott came to help out while the kids were sick and Henry kept crawling up to her with his mouth open to plant lovely, snotty kisses on her. He is also climbing on anything he can. He seems to have very little fear, which requires me to constantly keep an eye on him. Josie on the other hand, is starting to stand up from the middle of the floor and walk a few steps! She just started yesterday evening. She was sitting beside me on the floor, while I was kind of complaining to Chad about her whininess during the day and she stood up and walked off. It was like she decided she wasn't going to stick around if that is what we were going to talk about:) She is also signing "sleep" and "baby" now. She has been feeding all of her Backyardigan beaning baby's her bottle and this morning tried to feed Henry his. He looked at her like what the heck are you doing, don't you know mom does that:)

We have really had a nice few weeks of no doctor's appointments and Josie has a fairly quiet July as we get ready for surgery. This weekend we are headed to Pittsburg and the lake to see all of the grandparents before we go back into lockdown mode to keep her healthy until August. Hope everyone stays cool this weekend!
