Enjoying July

We have really enjoyed the last couple of weeks of July. The kids and I spent several days at Gramma and Grampa Scott's swimming and visiting Grandma Joe. Chad came down at the end of the week and we spent Saturday and Sunday at the lake with Papa and Grammy Stewart. It was the first time in months that we have seen cousin Lane and it was such a great visit. The kids just love Lane and he is the best big cousin they could ask for. He played with them a good part of the weekend and Josie kept trying to give him hugs. Chad and I got some skiing in and also a couple of tubing trips with Lane. Overall, it was just a really nice weekend.Chad took Monday off since the weather was so nice and we went back to Pittsburg for one last swim in the pool. With Josie's surgery coming up in a week and a half we don't except to get back to Pittsburg or the lake for quite awhile.Josie and Henry have been doing really well. Henry is standing on his own now and tries to take a step, especially when he sees Josie walking. He has also mastered how to remove his diaper, which I would have preferred he not learn:) Chad and I found him laying on the floor in the living room under the ceiling fan with no clothes on. I know it has been a little warm lately, so it must have felt good. The next day, I was in the kitchen and turned around to find him walking through pushing a toy with no clothes on. We are going to have to keep him in onsies or shorts from now on:) Josie is walking more and more every day and is very proud of herself when she does it. She is also signing many new words. This week she learned to sign "mom", "dog", "wash hands" and "potty".

We have another relatively quiet week with only a pre-op appointment on Friday. I am going to really enjoy the days with the kids and dread the thought of surgery next week. The good news is that we are going to be close to home this time and we have lots of help from Gramma and Grampa Scott and Grammy Stewart. I'll post more on Friday if we learn anything new about surgery.
