Henry turned 9 months old this week! Hard to believe we are going to be celebrating his first birthday in a few short months. He is changing daily! The new things this week are to crawl up the stairs, dance, and shake his head no:) I'm trying to get a good video of Josie and him dancing. He bounces up and down really fast and Josie has developed this hip swing that is really cute. He is falling less when he pulls up or walks behind the toys which is good. Josie has started crying anytime he gets hurt, so everything can be going smoothly and all of a sudden I have two crying babies. It's a good thing for everybody that we are having a few less bumps and bruises. Henry is showing no signs of teeth, but is getting very good at mushing stuff with his gums. He is eating anything we give him and passed the egg allergy test this week.
Josie is really doing well, also. She is starting to take more steps on her own and is really showing an interest in walking. We took the kids to Bass Pro Shop last weekend and Josie walked all over the store in her walker. She seemed to enjoy showing off a little bit. We get lots of questions about her walker when we are out, but Josie doesn't seem to mind it. She's also become addicted to the new kiddie pool in our yard. I think she could spend the whole day in it!
On a medical note, we finally have a surgery date, August 3rd, after much coordination between Josie's various physicians. She is going to have a few procedures during this surgery and should be in the ICU for a night and then maybe one more night before we can go home. The general surgeon is going to do some repair work on her button site to make it more comfortable, the ENT is going to work on her laryngeal cleft to improve swallowing, the GI is going to do a scope to evaluate her increased reflux, and the rehab medicine doc is going to do botox injections in her neck to improve her alignment. We are also trying to get a hearing test scheduled which is something they like to do anytime she is out. We are so glad they were able to coordinate everything and prevent multiple surgery days. Josie is extremely hard to intubate, so reducing the number of times she needs this is really important. Hope everyone enjoys the cooler days this weekend!
