I tried feeding josie squash today just to see what she would do with it and she took off! With the NG tube she couldn't tolerate swallowing solids, but today she even fed herself. I would put some food on the spoon and hand it to her and she would instantly put it in her mouth. This was unbelievable just 5 days after surgery! She is feeling great and is able to tolerate more formula each day. As you can see from the picture we have had to modify her clothes slightly to get easier access to the g-tube. It takes about as much time to feed her with the g-tube as the NG tube, but it is so much more comfortable for her. Josie also barely lost any weight and is about to break the 14 pound mark. Tomorrow, she will get her stitches out that are holding her g-tube in place which is the last appointment related to surgery for awhile. Just a quick post today since we are off to start the bedtime routine.
