Josie is headed home in a couple of hours and feeling much better! We are looking forward to walking out the hospital doors again, although Josie is going to have a longer ride home than she did coming here:)
Josie's ultrasounds showed a little swelling in her kidneys so we will be following up with a urologist from Children's Mercy in a few weeks. They may need to prescribe a low dose antibiotic for her to take continuously for a couple of years to prevent these types of infections, but we will know more after that doctor's appointment. The good news is we know the symptoms she could have and should figure out what is going on earlier if this happens again. Hopefully, that will prevent another plane ride.
