Update from Children's Mercy

Josie had a good night eating better and sleeping well. Chad and I shared a twin bed in her room which was interesting, but it was nice that we were both able to stay with her:) The doctor received preliminary results from her cultures this morning and it showed that she has some type of kidney/bladder infection. They are going to do an ultrasound on her kidneys this afternoon since to see if her hydronephrosis is causing the issue. Josie has a history of fluid on her kidneys and the are just going to see if that has continued/increased or if there is another anatomical issue related to this that could cause her to be prone to infection. The good news is that Josie no longer has to be attached to the IV and they removed the other monitoring device, so she is not tethered to anything. The cultures need another 24 hours to give the doctors a specific idea of the particular infection and be able to prescribe oral antibiotics. If all goes well and they get those results tomorrow we could very well be on the road to home by tomorrow afternoon (not on a plane this time:).

We'll keep everyone posted...
