What a relief. We are finally settled in our new home. The kids are adapting very well, in fact, night before last, both slept through the night. I think they were having a little mercy on their tired parents:) We were able to get past bad weather, a change in moving dates, getting locked out of vehicles, and more bad weather. By Sunday, we were unpacked and able to enjoy the Super Bowl and today the house is even decorated thanks to a visit yesterday from our official decorator Gramma Scott. The new neighborhood is full of kids and we have already met some great neighbors. There is even a little kiddo with a walker like Josie's. Chad is greatly enjoying the short drive to work and it is so nice to have him around more. We both are feeling a great sense of relief knowing that we are close to Josie's medical care. I don't think I realized the weight I felt living so far away. Now if Josie does get sick we can give her a little while to see if she is going to be able to handle it on her own without packing up the car and getting on the road. Also, it means we don't have to leave Henry anymore.
We already had our first appointment this week and how great it was to pack both the kids up, travel for 15 minutes, and be there! Josie was fitted for her hearing aid and we should get it in early March. The audiologists decided that her right ear had too much hearing loss to benefit from a hearing aid, so she is just going to wear one on her left ear. Today we were scheduled to visit the dentist, but more bad weather has caused me to cancel it. I think the kids and I are just going to try to stay warm inside today.
We could not have pulled this move off without our
great families. Thank you to Gramma and Grampa Scott for
all the help packing, babysitting, transporting kiddos, and unpacking. Thank you to Aunt Karen for spending time with the kids while we moved, I'm so glad they had the chance to hang out with you. Thank you to Uncle Phil for entertaining Henry on the drive to KC, he sure likes you a lot. Thank you to Grammy and Papa Stewart for taking care of our k9's:) Thank you to Uncle Corey for babyproofing the house.
