We got to see Henry today via ultrasound and he is so cute!! He weighs 5 pounds now and is doing great. He is starting to be a little cramped in his quarters, as you can see:) Overall our appointment went pretty well. The bad news is that the umbilical cord does not have as good of blood flow as they would like to see and the doctor believes this is probably from my blood pressure. He increased my medication and I am now going to the doctor twice a week for non-stress tests and an ultrasound. The good news is that we are getting to the point that with Henry's size and age he would be okay if we delivered early. We are hoping to buy a couple more weeks, which means I need to stay off my feet a little more than I have and hope the medication brings my blood pressure down even more.
On a Josie note, she is doing better. We had a longer recovery than we expected from the surgery, but she is back to gaining weight and starting to sleep better (depending on the night:). We've transferred her to a version of Pediasure that is solely for tube feedings and she is really doing well on it. It is shipped to us through the home medical supply company that provides her other equipment and our insurance now pays for it, which is a double bonus. She is also eating more and more food by mouth which is exciting. We've started using a regular spoon instead of a baby spoon and she really likes it. She still has a very long way to go to eat on her own, but it is definitely an exciting development. I think she may just have a couple more weeks of being an only child:) I am looking forward to introducing her to Henry and it will be interesting to see what she thinks of him...
