Josie turns 10 months old this week! Hard to believe we are just a short time away from her 1st birthday. I apologize for the lack of posts lately. We have been busy with another brief stint in the hospital and me going back to work. We found a wonderful pediatrician in Joplin, Dr. Woolrey, who is a recent MU grad. She is probably hands down the best doctor we have come across in the many appointments and hospital visits we have had. She is so good with Josie and really shows concern for her health. We met her just before Josie came down with a stomach bug and UTI, so Dr. Woolrey checked us into Freeman. This was the first time Josie has been in the hospital so close to home. It was a good experience and the nurses were very good with Josie. Unfortunately, I came down with the same stomach bug, so Chad stayed in the hospital by himself with Josie for two nights. Great Aunt Sandy spent a day at the hospital helping him out and we greatly appreciated it. Chad is quite a dad to take care of his little girl for two nights in the hospital:)
Josie has been making good progress as she recovers from the latest illness. She is gaining weight finally and is now 14 1/2 pounds. We have decided with Dr. Woolrey's recommendation to keep Josie on lockdown until the spring. Josie just can't afford to get sick and we are especially concerned about her catching a respiratory illness. Right now we are limiting visitors and Josie doesn't make any trips out of the house except for doctor visits. Hopefully, in the spring we can start to visit with folks again. As you can see from the picture she is starting to get into stuff and moving around more and more. It is so much fun to see her explore her surroundings. She is spending the mornings with Gramma Scott now that I am back at work. They are getting along wonderfully and Josie is always excited in the morning to see Gramma. The nursing students are also providing about 15 hours a week of support which is helping us out tremendously a few afternoons a week and on the weekend. This is allowing Chad and I to catch up on work and house stuff. They are very good with Josie and it gives her a chance to interact with someone else for a change.
Well that is it for now...I'll try to post sooner next time.
