Shots and Solids

Josie had her 4 month shots last Friday and really did pretty well. She never ran a fever or acted any different. It was a big relief since we were hoping for a couple of weeks of good health. She was 10 lbs. even and 21 3/4 inches long which fell below the 5th percentile. The good news was that she is following the growth curve...just a little under the 5th. The doctor was happy with this considering her size at birth and the illnesses. She also met all of the 4 month old developmental milestones and a few of the 5 month milestones so the doctor suggested we give cereal a shot. We tried in the first evening and Josie actually likes it! I thought she wouldn't be able to eat it at all with as difficult as she is to just feed a bottle. She swallowed it and of course made a few funny faces. The next night we fed her cereal she wouldn't stop smiling long enough to eat which was very entertaining.

Josie seems to change every day now. This week her and Chad have created a new game where he kisses her knees and she squeals and kicks her legs. It is hilarious. She is also grabbing for stuff more and holding on to it. It seems like you can just see the wheels turning in her mind.

Chad and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary today and it brought back memories of finding out we were pregnant. Last year we were hoping we were pregnant when we celebrated our anniversary, but didn't find out officially until the next day. This year's anniversary seems especially significant with everything we've been through the last year and the addition of Josie to our family.
