Watching the birds
Movie night!
Wow, what a busy March we had! We started spring break with a fun visit from cousins Lane and Kiersten, and Grammy Stewart. We showed the kids around KC and hit Legoland! All the kids had a blast. It was really fun having four kids in the house and Henry and Josie just loved playing with their older cousins. Chad and I were surprised how well it went getting around and we made it everyplace on time, which was a feat for us considering we had four kids to get ready everyday (luckily Grammy was around to help, too:) Henry really enjoyed having another boy in the house and I think he wore Lane out with all the wrestling. Josie is Kiesten's shadow and wanted to do whatever Kiersten was doing. We finished the week at Nana and Papa Scott's. It was fairly low key there since Henry started running a fever literally in the car ride to Pittsburg. Both kids enjoyed the trip and we got to see Uncle Phil and Aunt Karen. The highlight was watching Nana's bird feeders which seemed to average about 20 finch at a time. The kids loved watching them and I'm hoping to get one at the house soon. We also managed a quick trip to Girard to see our former neighbor, Edna. It was great to have lunch with her and to catch up on the kids. She was around for Josie's first months and always has a special place in our hearts.

(Signing "party")
After the spring break week, we celebrated Josie's 4th birthday! It is hard to believe it's been four years and we had a great day celebrating. Josie was quick to remind everyone that it was her birthday and she was four:) We had a party at her school, which Henry also enjoyed, and then we had a quiet celebration in the evening with just the four of us. Josie chose to eat out for dinner and wanted to go to McDonald's. She loves sucking all the salt off of french fries, so we had fries and the kids played in the indoor playground. This was the first time Josie made it all the way to the top! She had to get up there because she was worried about what Henry was doing:) This was a very exciting birthday to celebrate. Looking back on the Josie's 3rd year in pictures it is amazing the good health she had and all the growth and development she has experienced. I put together a short video for Chad and I to watch to the song "Keep on the Sunny Side". This was definitely a sunny side year for Josie!

Hopefully something pops up in the ground in a couple of weeks:)
Run! Run!
We finished the week with Henry's preschool group coming to our house for some great fun in the backyard. Chad has put a lot of sweat into making the backyard a great place for kids to play, between the playset, gardens, and teepee. It was so cool to see kids enjoying his hard work. The kids had a blast! We dug in the mud, planted vegetable seeds, had a race, and, of course, since they're all boys, enjoyed throwing rocks into buckets of water:) Everyone was pretty much covered with mud by the end but it was so much fun!

Last weekend, we celebrated Easter, which was a big event in our house. Chad and I were baptized together during the Sunday service. It was an amazing experience to share together and I'm so thankful to OBC for allowing us to be baptized together. Something we will never forget. Nana and Papa came and it was great to share the day with them. It was also nice for them to get a chance to meet the folks at church that they hear so much about, like Josie's guardian angel, Pam. The weather was beautiful Sunday, and after church, we sat on the back porch and watched the kids play, while Chad cooked burgers. Definitely a great end to a fun month of March!
