Mother's Day

I have to first apologize for it being so long since the last post. I don't know where the weeks went, but it has definitely been busy around here. This weekend marks Mother's Day and Henry turning 8 months old. He is becoming a little more like a Hank it seems. I think he may walk before he crawls. He seems to want to crawl on his hands and feet and then decides it much faster to army crawl. He also has become relentless when he sees something he wants and isn't afraid to crawl over Josie to get it. The two have become somewhat inseparable. They pretty much play with each other or follow each other around most of the day. As soon as one of them wakes up from a nap they can't wait to hug each other and are so excited. Henry is also eating solids like crazy. He's never been much of a formula drinker, but will pretty much eat any baby food I give him including peas! We stayed home this weekend for Mother's Day to establish some new sleeping routines with the kids (long story, let's just say that neither have been sleeping well due to colds). We had a great weekend and spent the majority of it outside enjoying the weather. Josie loooooves the outside. She crawls everywhere and enjoys gardening. She gets upset every time we have to go in.
We are finally settling back into our routine after Josie started school. Unfortunately, school turned out to not be a good experience, so we have decided to stop going. Josie cried most of the time she was there and would fall asleep in the classroom. Crying this long is very unlike her. Even on days that we have had some rough doctor's appointments, she is a real trouper and can deal with quite a bit. We decided that she is still a little young and we need to find some experiences for her to socialize that maybe aren't so structured. Also, we continue to have several doctor's appointments a week, so to add school on top of that was just exhausting for her.

I think that pretty much covers the last few weeks except for another round of colds for everyone, little sleep, several doctor's appointments, and several visits with the grandparents. Next weekend we are headed to Derby for some much needed time away from the kiddos. Chad's folks are keeping Josie and Henry for a couple of nights and Chad and are going to have a mini vacation.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's Day. I know I am so thankful for the mother's in my life including my mom, grandmother's and mother-in-law. What a blessing it is to be a mother.
