On the Road Again...

The kids are wearing their K-State gear in this post for pics we gave Chad for his birthday last week. This is in no way an endorsement for K-State in the KSU/KU game tonight:) Henry is rooting for KSU and Josie is for KU...us girls have to stick together. We have had a good few days since the last post. Last weekend we enjoyed the weather. The kids spent most of Saturday outside while we caught up on some yard work and we spent the day at the lake on Sunday. Grammy and Papa watched the kids and allowed Chad and I some time to ourselves. Henry hit nine pounds this week! He is already out of his newborn clothes:) His sleeping is getting marginally better. Last night we had a few 3 hour stretches, although his sister was up at 4:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep. Overall, Chad and I are still pretty much exhausted all the time. Hopefully in the next few weeks this will get better.

Josie begins a round of doctors appointments at Children's Mercy next week and Henry will be staying overnight with Gramma and Grampa Scott. Next Tuesday we see the eye doctor to see if the patching has worked on her right eye and the neurologist. We are excited to see the neurologist and get his thoughts on the Mayo findings and images. We were impressed with him the last time we say him and it will be good to get his input into Josie's development. Tuesday night we are doing the sleep study. Josie and I will be staying overnight in the hospital while they monitor her sleeping. She will have about 30 probes connected to her to monitor everything from movements to breathing. It is going to be a real challenge to get her to sleep and I'll be glad when we have it behind us. We are doing this to determine if she needs anything else done during the Mayo surgery in December and determine why she isn't sleeping well. Hopefully, we will have some answers in a few weeks after the results are analyzed. The next week we head to KC again for an ENT appointment to have Josie's ears and airway checked out again. Then, the next day we meet her developmental pediatrician and have an occupational therapy evaluation. Our pediatrician and physical therapist are becoming more concerned with Josie's inability to walk, so the OT evaluation may help us determine her overall strength and motor capabilities. It is going to be an exhausting couple of weeks for Josie and I'll be glad when she has it behind her. We are hoping November will be a slow month before we go into surgery in December.

This weekend we are looking forward to PSU homecoming. The kids are going to tailgate and Chad's family is coming for the game. It should be perfect weather and will be great for the kiddos to be outside.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll post more in a couple of weeks after things slow down a little.
