Where does the time go when you have two kids:) I didn't think it would take a full week to get back to the blog, but we find ourselves today already celebrating the end of Henry's first week. Things are going relatively smoothly for just being home a few days. Josie is slowly getting used to a baby in the house. She is very concerned if he cries and wants one of us to hold her. In general, she pretty much ignores him, but I do find her checking on him periodically when he is napping in his room:) Henry is doing really well and putting on weight like there is no tomorrow. He is almost back to his birth weight. He is a breastfeeding pro and eats about every 2 to 3 hours. If you make him wait much longer he becomes very vocal. He is much louder than Josie and has very little patience:) Last night he did give me a 4 hour stretch between feedings which was great. He has already gone on a truck ride with daddy and the dogs and we went for our first walk yesterday morning. Chad went back to work yesterday and Gramma Scott is coming to help since I still can't lift Josie. We miss him being back at work and really enjoyed the last few days together as a family of four.
Josie has begun waving which is really cute. This weekend we were sitting on Gramma and Grampa's screened porch and Josie crawled to the door and waved. She wanted to go outside. It was great to see her communicating. We think she is having a little bout with allergies and she has had a little more trouble tolerating her feeds. Even with a runny nose and tummy that doesn't feel good she is in a great mood. We couldn't have asked for her to do any better with Henry's arrival. We are back on the road this week for doctor's appointments. We took the last few weeks off with my bedrest and Henry's birth, but we have some things we can't put off anymore. Gramma Scott and I are taking all the kids to Children's Mercy Thursday for an appointment with Josie's surgeon. He is going to take a look at the scar tissue around her button again, which appears to be coming back. It is going to be an experience to pack everyone up this week and head to KC:) Next week, Grammy Stewart and Chad are taking her back KC for her sleep clinic appointment. We are hoping to do her overnight stay for the sleep study early next month.
I'll try to post sooner next time with new pics of the kids...
